What it does

Using assessment software coupled with new book building software, the custom book system allows the creation, in a fully automated manner and in real time, of books containing only the knowledge that has been identified, through an assessment, as needed or relevant to the student’s knowledge or skills profile. As a result the student will have a customized book reflecting exclusively the content that this individual will benefit from studying, and none of the material covering already mastered areas.

How it works

This invention incorporates a software based assessment engine coupled with a new electronic software based book builder that generates an electronic copy of a customized book. Each knowledge bit is stored as a separate entity in our data repository. Each content entity is also stored as a row in a digital library index class as a collection of attributes and references to related content entities and containers. As the user submits answers to the items of the assessment these attributes and references are, when appropriate, included in a content object, the system then arranges the objects hierarchically, e.g., into volumes, chapters and sections according to the order specified by our myBook™(*) software engine.
