Lesson 4 - Dynamics of Medical

Vocabulary and Word Structure

·         master the concepts of prefixes and suffixes

·         make new medical words based on prefixes and suffixes

Lesson 5 - Body Dynamics

·        learn about body planes, locations of various organs and   movements of various body parts

·         identify and describe the planes, locations and movements.

Lesson 6 - Medical Instruments and Equipments

·        understand the instruments and equipment used in the field of Medicine

·         identify and describe the instruments and equipment used.

Lesson 7 - Medical Specialties and Specialists

·        distinguish between the various specialists working in the field of Medicine

Lesson 5 - Evolution of Current Procedural Terminology

·        master the components of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Coding Systems

Lesson 10 - E/M Descriptors

·         know more about the descriptors used in Coding

·        get a comprehensive view of the descriptors in real-time case reports

Lesson 11 - Coding and the Law

·        gain familiarity with the Coding Laws and Conventions

·        realize the importance of the Privacy Standards for the patients

 

Unit II – Section 2: Hands-On Coding Labs

Section 2 Objectives

·           analyze and interpret the dictated content

·           translate the content and bill the procedures accurately

All lab exercises are based on 650 scenarios and 75 case studies. All the reports used for both the scenario exercises and case studies are actual physician’s reports based on actual doctor’s visits, only the names of people and places have been changed.
